On my reading list at the moment are the above visual treats. Yes, I am a massive fan of Boo. Someday I will own my own Pom!

Habibi  is a graphic novel by Craig Thompson. Sprawling across an epic landscape of deserts, harems, and modern industrial clutter, Habibi tells the tale of Dodola and Zam, refugee child slaves bound to each other by chance, by circumstance, and by the love that grows between them. I really love how this novel looks and can’t wait to properly get into it. I am a massive fan of graphic novels! If only there was more time in the day so I could read and draw more. There is a great section to see the process of how Habibi came to life HERE.

The third book I am reading is Beyond the Page which is the personal account of the work Quentin Blake, released to coincide with Quentin’s 80th birthday. Quentin is one of my favourite illustrators so this book will have a special place on my bookshelf! This book shows unpublished material on his recent projects and commissions, the fascinating story of his working processes, collaborators and travels, brought to life by over 300 full-colour reproductions of Quentin’s instantly recognisable illustrations.

Has anyone else read Habibi? Or do you have any graphic novels to recommend?
